Choosing Happiness

We've all experienced those bad days where happiness just isn't found. When we experience trauma and consistent pain, our feelings get cycled through our thought process again and again. These unhappy and negative feelings are now considered 'normal' because they've been cycled through so many times. It can be challenging to break away from this normal cycle and negative feelings when they have existed for so long.




The part of being unhappy is that you have to take ownership of your unhappiness. It can feel unfortunate not to play the victim and line up all the reasons and people why you have remained so unhappy. The unhappiness part is something that you need to take ownership of. You choose to remain in unhappiness. You can also choose to try again and learn a new way of living. The process is painful and typically needs a trained professional to help you learn a new thought process but it's completely manageable and can be done. Choose again. Choose to be happy. Choose to see the world through a new lens. Remember, the feelings that you have are just feelings; they don't define you. Ask for help.
